Free sub box...

I've got a custom made sub box for a 1998 explorer with tan interior. We got a new explorer and the box won't fit because the new model was redesigned and doesn't have the same dimensions under the rear seat.

I'm giving it away for free cause it's just too nice to throw away. You can pick it up or pay for delivery. It will hold one 10" sub and is designed to go under the rear seat on the 60% passenger side. The seat won't fold down anymore when it is installed, but the 40% driver's side still will. Plus, it was a small price to pay for the bass in my oppinion.

was it made for a 2dr or a 4dr... or does that not even matter?
I have a 2dr, and if it'll work I'd take it? I want my cargo space back for the fall!

It was made for a 4 door, and yes it does matter unfortunately. My sister-in-law has a 2 door that was the same body style as our 98 was. I looked in there to see if she could use it, but under the back seat has a different shape. It will work in any 4 door explorer from around 1995? to about 2000 I would guess. When did they redesign the explorer? Was it 2001?!?

Anyway, I got a guy in Kentucky that said he'd give it a good home, so I'm checking on shipping rates for him. Unless someone in the Dallas area wants it. I'd rather not mess with shipping it if I don't have to since I'm giving it away for free...

I CAN take a photo with my dit cam, but it is just sitting in the garage. It isn't installed in teh explorer now or I wouldn't need to give it away. I'll email you a photo if you send me your email address. Mine is janikphoto@yahoo.com if you want to ask for photos.

As far as the question about picking up the box here in dallas, email me and I'll get your family my address. Having someone pick it up is MUCH easier than boxing it up and shipping it to someone.

Hey, wait. It says you have an explorer sport and I think I mentioned this above that the sport (any 2 door model) has different dimensions under the back seat than the 4 door and this box is designed for the 4 DOOR... I want to make sure this box gets used and not thrown away. That's the whole reason I am offering it to someone, otherwise I'd just throw it away myself...
