Does anybody have a front differential from a 96+ available for measurements? I need to know the dimensions of the piece. Quaife Engineering hase a gear driven L/S differential available, but it is very expensive and I would need the current measurements to make sure it will fit.

Here is a link to the technical drawing for the Quaife ATB listed for a Ford Explorer front:

Well on their diagram it says "If In Doubt- Ask" -- that might be your best bet is to ask them directly. Aussie Lockers make a locker for the IFS -- they are our vendors and are very reasonable in price

I have contacted Quaife, but unfortunately they do not know what year range the differential will fit. Why? They developed this piece for the custom cars in a James Bond movie and only had the carrier to work with. They did not know what year, they just developed it knowing it was from the front of a Ford Explorer. That is why they led me to the technical drawings and told me I would have to measure my differential. I guess I will have to open up my case to check. I was just hoping someone had one open and could quickly measure it for me.

The 27-tooth spline called out in the drawing should make it work with a 28-tooth axle shaft, right? (Isn't there one more tooth than there are roots on a spline?)

Hmmmm....
