i am absolutely baffled by this problem .... i have a 97 ford explorer 4 door, auto 4wd 4.0L SOHC, i purchased it about a three months ago and it had no window problems the only thing i have done was remove the already aftermarket stereo and put in another aftermarket stereo so i could have an aux input for my ipod, thats all that i have done, im not sure if doing this somehow led to my problem but heres the thing ... the window started off still working but when going down or up it would stop in between and i would have to push the button repeatedly for it to roll completely down or up, then one evening it stopped and wouldnt budge all the way down, so i figured the motor had gone bad ... i removed the panel and started to go to work on the motor issues ... but when the new motor was in place the window would still not move, so i took the old motor and unplugged the working window on the passenger side and the motor worked just fine, so i thought that well now it has to be the switch so i went to the ford dealer and bought a new switch and tried that still no window movement, now i tried to get a voltmeter to test how much current was coming through the switch and motor.... and that too said that there is enough current to move the windows so no i am at a stand still
