I'm really tired of that dang sway bar in my front end. It gets in the way when turning (both when connected and disconnected). It's also a pain to connect/disconnect.

I see Tom F. just did dual shocks on his Navajo. Tom - pictures, please!

I know about the James Duff kit - but I've got a 5.5" superlift kit on, and duff's web page says 'no guarantee with anything but stock or our stuff.'

What other options are there to dual shocks in the front?

Oh, and to make matters worse, I found a local frame shop that said "if you can show us what you want, we can do it." And they wasn't talking that much money either ($300-400, WITH rs9000's!)

So come one people, help!

tdavis,
I am thinking of doing the dual shocks when I do my lift for the same reason. I may not get out much, but when I do, I want to be ready. Chances are I'll do a 4" lift with a 3" body lift or my wife won't be able to climb in :D
The cost of the mod to add the 9000's seems very good - I would do it. Being adjustable, youcan set them however you want them to help with the sway. They won't react the same way - so you'll have to take it easy when cornering, but it's a small price to pay!

Hi TomD, the price for the dual shocks up front are $350.00 to $400.00 with out shocks.I find it pretty cheap if they quoted you that price incl. the shocks. 4x4dr. makes them to get the max travel out of the front, He makes 2-3 dummies before he finally makes the one that goes on.

I opted for keeping my front anti-sway bar. Even though it's a pain in the butt sometimes. With the 35s I need all the control I can get at high speeds on the highway. I'm willing to adjust to the limitations on turning and the time it takes to remove them. What I do on the trail is totally remove them unscrewing the bracket off. That way I don't have any rubbing no matter how much I flex.

Peter Weber is going to post pictures of the dual shocks as sonn as he get's the pictures back from our trip to Big Bear last week.

Thanks Tom! I'll probably be taking it off on the Rubicon - need everything I can get.

The duff dual shock system makes it tough to get the bar off at the TTB end. So I'm not 100% sure I want that. Can't wait to see the pics. As for the price - he was estimating off his head. He has done Broncos before (they even had a hummer in!), but he's not a pure 4x4 shop. I'm just gathering as much information as I can the next two weeks, and then going from there.

Update

As an update on my quest for dual's in the front.

The truck goes in monday, for installation of the james duff and rs9000's!

I'll also be installing a rear-diff skid plate from duff at that time (some spots need grinding off, and I don't have a grinder..)

They will also be straightening out the drop brackets, and re-aligning the front end too.

Can't wait!
