This noise started after I installed and removed the F150 spacers.

When I hit the brake really hard, and sometimes when starting I hear the front end bang or clunk (really loud). I made sure the radius arms were tightened and they were. I think the bushings might be worn though.

Will worn bushings cause a noise like that? It sounds scary when it happens. The springs are on right and secured properly! The only thing I can think is the radius arms. ANY HELP!

It could very well be your radius arm bushings, are they the stock bushings?

Possibly! I bought it with 99,831 mi and have'nt replaced them yet.

Should I go with stock rubber or get the poly's?

How long ago did you install/remove the spacers?

Get poly.I am in the process now of changing all my bushings to poly:D

TwotoneX

It was about 4 months ago. I started to hear the noise less than a month after removing them. I had them on for one week.

Then why are they still in your sig? :D j/k, i just noticed it now :D

I thought it could be the spring settling, but that would only be if they were new springs, so nevermind  :hammer:

I agree with brad, go with poly...

Yeah! Your right! Guess I should've updated that. Anyway's, I still have them, I'm gonna put them back on when I get the JD lift. The cost of an alignment is crazy.

Who sells the poly bushings?

O.K. everyone...I installed the new radius arm bushings and I am still hearing the noise. I had my wife drive the truck while I crawled along side of it as she hit the brakes really hard. (Was hoping to be able to see where the clunking was occuring!)

From what we can tell is it seems that the front is shifting forward when we hit the brakes. Would the axle pivot bushings cause the front axle beams to flex this much and hit the frame? From what I know they have over 100,000 miles as well. I can see no rub or contact marks anywhere.

Any suggestions!

Hello again!

I may of found what was causing the clunking. When I removed the springs, I didn't put them in the seats properly. Solved that problem!

Got new poly sway bar bushings...BIG DIFFERENCE!!
I will be installing new ball joints this Saturday, along with outer tie rod ends. Since an alignment will be mandatory...in go the F150 space again. So just in case you see them in my sig again, Two ToneX, I don't want you to think I'm perpertrating...O.K.! (JK)

Off the subject:
Does anyone know if the seats from a '96 2DR will fit in a '93 2DR? I seen some leather seats at the salvage yard and they look like they will mount. Any help will be welcome!

Later my peoples!
