hello all , hope you can help me. Vechicle is a 2002 explorer xlt 4x4 V8. I have
a howling noise coming from the left front ? sounds like a bad tire?? and also a vibration in the wheel. The sound and vibs get lounder when you turn left or right but seem to be a little louder when turning right. I had all the wheels rebalanced and rotated then renstalled when the noise started so i'am pretty sure it's not a tire problem. All Ball joints, tie rod ends, swaybar links seem to be okay I'am afraid to drive the car at this point anything I misssed or anyone with the same problem, the car only has 58000 miles on it, and the DPFE, ABS sensor , temp sensor already went out and now this ! :fire:

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me.

Yep I can bet you that it is the wheel bearings. On my 02 they went at 60,000. The were so bad that they were purple. (not good). The are about 200 a piece at they sealed units. You should do both front the same time because even if you only hear it now on one side I will bet you that the other one will follow soon. Just my 2 cents.

thanks for the reply , thought it was a little early for a bearing, but I guess not I'll be working on it this weekend. $200 for new asem why does ford have to use a sealed unit :fire:
