Front End Sag

I have a 1993 Explorer with a little over 100,000 I think the front end is starting to sag a little bit. I replaced both shocks up front but the tires are angle out like this / \ I've heard bad springs will cause this, I have really bad tire wear in the inside the alignment is alittle off but not that bad. The ride is pretty crappy up front I feel every bump in the road. The vehical sat for about a year or two with cracked heads. I'm just wondering if there are any sure signs about them and if you have any tips on replacing them. Thank you

the issue with tires that look like / \ (or \ / ) is the camber... and since u have a 1st gen X, then yes springs that are out of spec will cause this. the real fix would be to replace those springs. shocks generally do not have anything to do with camber.

OK found a new problem to the bad tire wear and / \ angled tires. I jacked it up found a loose wheel bearing on one side and I have a lower ball joint thats bad on the other tire(the one with the bad ball joint is angled more and also it is towed out) The front end is actually higher then the back end, I was using a piece of wood and i could perfectly fit it in between the tire and fender and I couldn't even fit it in the rear end in between the tire and the fender(have a speaker box in the back the whole back).Just wondering how high a ford explorer with fresh springs are on a first generation. Thank you

hey man, the rear wheel well is designed a little differently from the front, it has more room for the tire to go up into the wheel well, it may not actually be sagging. What you need to do is go ahead and fix the front end and if it looks too high in front there are several cheap solutions to fix the problem such as add-a-leafs, shackles, stuff like that.
