Hi all.

I'm hoping someone out there can help me solve this annoying little problem. :)
My front fog lights aren't lighting up, when I press the button. The rear is working fine.
I've already checked the supply to the front, and there's no life in the plugs for the fog lights.
I'm pretty convinced that they don't have a separate fuse, but what I don't know, is if they have a separate relay, or if they have a separate wire from the switch in the dashboard?

Can someone guide me further?

Thanks! :chug:

I replaced my fog lights with an aftermarket set, and ran new wires from a separate switch. Now I can control when they are on or not. Beats all the factory BS when it comes to wiring through all the factory relays and such.

And, i use mine for day time running lights more than for fog lights.

I see your point, but I'm kinda allergic to aftermarket-glow-in-the-dark-switches, and I just want it to work as its supposed to. :)

I understand, but unless you are an electrical genius, which I am not, you can go crazy trying to run down the problem with all the relays and fuses on these Explorers. And please tell me, what are you refering to when you say the "rear is working fine"? Are you refering to the backup lights? If so, they should not be on the fog light switch. In this country, it is illegal to have a rear facing white light on, except for a license plate light. Not counting load lamps on trucks, and backup lights, which only work when in reverse.

Actually I do retrofitting of original equipment, as a full time job, only in German cars, but I can't seem to find any resources, for the Explorer, in terms of wiring diagrams, or relay locations. :)
With the rears, I am referring to the rear fog lights, in the bumper.

There is a volume of Factory Wiring Diagrams. At least for 1999. I was just looking at them on FleBay. My fogs and DRLs aren't working on my newly acquired '99. According to the Owner's Manual (all I've got to work with) there appears to be a relay under the hood. It sure would be nice if the FSM were available in Pdf form on the net somewhere!
