Nope.

You can buy them and they're not all that expensive.
I think they're a Ranger part.

i didnt think so cause they look differnt. so they are a full tim hub?

Yes You can buy them, yes they're not expensive, and yes they are a Ranger part, but they won't work on an Explorer, unless you swap in the axles and hubs from a 98-00 Ranger.

So it's doable then.

Doable, yes, apparently. My point was you can't just buy the aftermarket locking hubs and throw them on a gen 2 Explorer.
Not sure if anyone here has actually done the parts swapping necessary to make the hubs work on an Ex, seems like it would be a popular thing.

Interestingly, here's a how to link that shows how to switch the Ranger PVH hubs to the gen 2 Explorer live axle system, just the opposite of what we're discussing. http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/99hubswap.shtml
Don't know why Ranger guys would want to do that. Maybe it's like how women with straight hair want curly hair, and curly haired women straighten their hair.
:dunno:

I"he seen it on a forum, I thought it was this one. The process didn't look too complicated but the only information I retained was Ranger parts and not expensive.

I've got not idea how I could find the thread now.

It would be more useful than a brown wire mod.

I have done it so have a few others , its not exactly cheap, you need the hub bearings , half shafts , seals and clips , and a set of AVN hubs , I did it on a 99 mountaineer with a manual transfer case swap and I have all the same parts to do this to my V8 sport when I get the time

Also a 95 has the vacuum disconnect on the passenger side of the front diff, so you kinda do

ok so you have to deal with some extra drag when not in 4wd?
