Front HVAC Auto mode

Hi
When i press the AUTO mode button on my ac/heat panel the AC led does not come on should it?

I can press the AC button as well and have this running with the Auto button but should not the AC also be activated once the Auto button is pressed?

When i go into clima controll on the screen in just Auto mode the AC is not activated.

Let me know if this is correct

And on the Rear ac/heat panel i have heated seats in 2 modes but when pressed the light only goes to first mode and next press its off.
The car is 2016 Limited FWD

I can't comment on the rear unit since I never use it as I'm the only occupant. The A/C light will not come on when you are in AUTO mode. When the A/C light is ON that indicates the A/C is working. I can't recall if it will come ON automatically should the set temperature so dictate. It's been a looong Winter.
