I need to replace my front rotors, I figure I can get it off and get the new one on, but I was wondering if anyone knows the best place to buy them. I guess I could go to the junkyard, but I don't know if I want to be buying used rotors, so should I just go to the ford dealership? Also, I also need to repack the bearings, are there any writeups anywhere on how to do this?

buy a bearing packer at harbor freight tools... or your local auto parts store has them too... or you can do the old method of putting a big glop on your hand and scraping it with the bearing till grease comes out the other end..... as for the rotors, you will need to disassemble the hubs with appropriate sockets.. jared, i know you already knew this, but just tossing it in there.... i would either buy high performance rotors like the ones made by powerslot or art or just get whatever brand your local autopart store carries... the Ford stock ones arent that great anyway... at least the autostore brand will be at least the same quality as the factory ones and be quite a bit cheaper as well....

Stay away from Autozone or other "low end" brand rotors (and pads). I install (on average) 5 sets of rotors a week and can tell you the cheep brands aren't worth the effort to install. I generally install NAPA "Application Engineered" (or AE) pads and rotors. They are true out of the box (no machining) and seem to hold up as good if not better than OE rotors.

NAPA

Ill second the Application Engineered NAPA recommendation, Ive had their rotors and loaded calipers on for close to 50k miles- . Ask for it, because they have 2 or 3 levels of stuff and will sell you what ever they have if you dont ask.

As for packing the bearings- get some disposable latex gloves and use the hand method to force the grease in.

Have Fun.
