i have an 01 sport with the power/leather/lumbar seats. the outer edge of the drivers seat was wearing really bad (from 106,000 miles of my butt), and the foam was breaking down pretty bad. i noticed that the inner edge of the seat was fine, and had lots of bolster.

so i switched the bottom foam/cover from seat to seat. now the worn part is on the inner passenger seat (which now has a fresh outer bolster), and i (driver) have a newer, more comfy seat to put another 100,000 miles on. i drive alone most of the time, but now if a passenger messes up the leather, i wont feel as bad, it already looks rough.

didn't take any in-progress pics, my wife had the camera that day. by the time she got home, the mosquitoes were sucking me dry. so no pics right now. i looked around and didn't see any threads about this mod, so i was wondering if there is anyone is interested in doing the same? if so, i'll tear one seat back down this weekend and do a step-by-step with pics. i did this with the seats still bolted in. i may be easier with seats out, but i didn't feel like messing with the goofy rail system the seat belt buckle rides on. oh yeah, also figured out why my lumbar crank wasn't working. its real easy to see when the seat bottom is off.
