front suspension problem, need help

Here's my problem.

-I have a nasty shaking/vibration and it's the worst at about 50 mph.
-The front left tire has an aweful wear pattern. The inside is worn about 1/8" more than the outside.
-I hear a "pop" in the front left suspension when the suspension articulates over small bumps at small speeds.

I think it is either in need of allignment, or I need my control arms replaced.
What do you guys think? If you do think my control arms need replacing, do I need top, bottom or both. How much wopuld I be looking to spend?

It sounds like you have a ball joint in need of replacement. Your best bet is to take it to a reputable repair shop and have them inspect the front end and give you a quote on what needs replaced and what it will cost.
