Has anyone added front to points to their 4th gen? I imagine that it is not that difficult, but would like to see how some other peoples turned out before i break out the dremel.
This is what I did: used Curtis front hitch to attach my plow brackets, and then I added tow hooks from Chevy S10, and cut out the openings in the air dam.
I bought the same hitch as Explorer_PL, but I cut off the hitch part, welded in some bow shackle mounts, and added a 1/4" steel plate on the bottom to protect the radiator while offroading:
"Does the front hitch reduce ground clearance any?"
Definitely it does. I do not do any off-roading, and I already had the plow brackets so it did not make any difference to me. I have to watch for high sidewalks when I park front wise.
I do not believe the Gen-4 ever came with tow hooks. I marked mine on the air dam and used dremmel to cut out the openings for the hooks, there is nothing marked behind.

I'd like to have hooks. I'll have to crawl under the front end and see where some might be attached without a hitch crossbar. I just saw a 3rd gen on a rack and it had hooks on it.
The OEM ones dont stick out. they are a pain because you have to go under the truck about a foot to hook on to them and the chain pushes up on the air dam when pulling. Kind of a pita.
