My truck has been parked for 3 years and today i took it out for a spin

After about an hour i started to smell burning the front passenger wheel was smoking.

I push the 4by4 button on and off to see if the auto hubs where ingaged nothing happened.

i jacked the wheel off of the ground and the wheel spun freely.

Can any one tell me what is wrong and what i should be looking for when i remove the tire.

Thanx

can you be more specific? off hand, i would say look at the wheel bearings..... does it make any kind of nosie when driving?

lots of park time for any automobile it NOT GOOD .at least a 15 min run and idel a week will prevent this, and many other things [mainly rubber things and parts made from rubber] from becoming your headache.
first thing you want to do is take a srew driver and pry the breakpads away from your break disk, once they are away about 1/16 " on each side you should be able to slide the caliper in and out. if you have serious trouble prying away from disk then punch the two slide pins out[i am assuming its a 92 at you stated in your bio] this is easly done with a srewdriver and a small hammer. the pins or "slides" should push out in one piece for top and bottom examine them and conclude there integrity or buy new ones at autozone/autoparts store "very inexpencive". most likey if that doesnt free the breaks up it will be within the hydro. portion of the caliper. i.e. square cut seal on caliper piston not pulling back piston into its free positon, leaving breaks part engaged. not enought to slow you down but enough to smoke the breaks. lastly with wheel back on bolted up holding top with one hand and bottom with other attempt to wiggle tire off and notice ant play or wheel bearing slopp while pushing top bottom top bottom get the idea there should not be very much movement . there is a very persice why of doing this however i am going to say that you didnt have a problem with the bearing when you parked it so you should still not have any problems with them know they will not loosen on there own while sitting. not to mention if i try to type you threw a wheel bearing adj. job we would wind up killing one another. lol. very perecise procedure often done incorrectly/
