I recently purchased the new Bosch wiper blades (that are excellent by the way) only problem is that they only seem to touch in a few points, resulting in a streak of water/snow remaining right at eye level. I am getting very frustrated with my predicament, and have tried just about everything I could think of or know how to do. Help please!

I work at an auto parts store and have seen this a couple of times with the Bosch but not sure what causes it. Might see if swapping them sides does any good if only on one side, if not go back and see if they wont trade them out for another brand or set.

How are the springs in your wiper arms? I had a set of the Bosch framless blades on my 95' and loved 'em.

I had a similar situation. I had the beam type blade (different brand than Bosch) on the front and they left a stripe in the same area.
I was never able to make this style work on my 02 Mountaineer.
Same thing for the rear wiper - even the winter style blades didn't work.

Interestingly enough I now tried a similar blade on my 08 Mountaineer and it works great; even on the rear window as well.

I have seen vehicles where they work great and some where it works as you describe. I don't think there is really a fix to it, it is related to the curvature of the window and the flexibility of the wiper blade.

I've always found cleaning off the blade with a wet paper towel and then taking it off and giving it a slight bend in the direction that it normally bends fixes most of the problems you have. I have been putting those things on cars for 6 years now both the rain x ones and the Bosch. All of them have the same issue where they lose the bend or don't conform to the window properly after awhile. The paper towel technique will help get all the contaminants off the blade itself.

you need strong springs for these solid type wipers, ive had this issue with a few brands

Try the Valeo 600 series wiper blades - they are one of the best cheap blades on the market. The downside is that you probably wont find them locally so I usually buy them from Amazon.com. But on the flip side, they last pretty long and they always wipe the entire length of the wiper.

Thanks everyone, the blades are brand new, I'm going to try working with the springs, I bend them almost every day before I go to class.

I know this is an old thread but you can also try bending your wiper arm slightly inward and it will also help with this problem. We had same thing happen on our '03. I dont know what causes it the wiper was fine when it was 1st installed but then started lifting right in the line of sight on the passenger side.
