Not my truck and no picture at the moment.
1994 F 150, under 100,000 miles. All the options, 5.0 V8
I was ask to look it over because it had a coolant leak.
After poking around for about 30 minutes, I finally thought to squeeze the radiator hoses. The upper is fine, little to no coolant in it. The coolant in the radiator appears slightly older but appears to have no oil in it at all. I finally squeezed the lower radiator hose, frozen.
Hummmm..... I wonder why it won't start now
Bought a new hose, $10.99
Two gallons of 50/50 prestone antifreeze $9.99 each
I will look at this truck again on the 3rd and hopefully it is warm outside, otherwise there may be a tow bill coming up. It's sitting outside and it's not been under 20 outside for several days at night time. So I can't figure it out.
I believe the lower hose was frozen, which backed up the coolant and caused the leak. So hopefully nothing major needs done to it. The owner retired from General Motors after 40 years, so either way he can afford the repairs.
But, this truck was purchased new by my grand father and than sold to my ex girlfriends grand father about one to two years ago. He gave his 91 S-10 to my ex, who then turned around and sold it like she has the other five vehicles they bought her
I will update this WHOOPS if it turns out to be a MAJOR WHOOPS and a PITA to repair as I will be paid one free dinner for my time.
What should I ask to have for dinner? They said anything
