Hi there, I have a 98 4.0 explorer sport and every time the weather gets warm (above 80 or so) I get a bad case of vapor lock, including all the stalling sputtering and just plain fun that comes with it. Anyone have any good ideas, and can anyone tell me what the normal fuel pressure should be with that particular engine/year. Thanks for the help.

I might be having a similar problem. Here in Florida it's over 80 so much mine just doesn't start. I can hear the fuel pump & if I spray starting fluid in the air box it starts but won't run.

Fuel pressures:
at idle
with vac. hose attached : 30-45 psi
with vac. hose dettached : 40-50 psi
hold pressure (after 5 min.) : 30-65 psi
Max 65 psi

Hope this helps.
