When my tank is under 1/2 full, the needle seems to be really sensitive- it'll move all around depending on angle, turns, brakes........

Here's my fuelly with all my stats since I've owned my Explorer in mid-October. 16.3 mpg average over 13 tanks.

I was averaging 15, but since replacing the egr sensor it seems to be averaging 17. A mix of City and Highway, mostly highway.

i got maybe 17 highway last time i checked .less in the city .

I have a 50/50 mix of city/highway on my daily commute and I'm getting 18 on a regular basis.

Getting about 19.7mpg HWY and about 12mpg city.

17 highway on my 94. These trucks do have anti slosh circuit boards in them so you shouldn't see large instantaneous fluctuations in your fuel gauge unless something is awry. They are located in the instrument cluster and I know on my 98 it was a plug in circuit board, not sure on my 94. On the 98 it had anti slosh printed right on the board.

Someone likes traffic lights... :D

Nothing makes you want to test the articulation of your SUV like Long Island/Metro NY traffic.

My mom's Aviator is just as bad. 22mpg hwy, 12mpg city.

I get 17 mpg regularly combined city/highway.

There's an anti-slosh chamber inside my fuel tank.
I found it floating around when I dropped the tank to replace my fuel pump.
Don't know how this plastic chamber was originally attached, but saw where it had been by a tear drop shape on the tank.
I affixed it using a fuel tank repair putty.

My gage moves a little bit, fuel level goes up when accelerating or going up a hill, but not a huge amount.

I get about 23-25 mpg highway, 19-21 mpg city. 2000 Sport, 2WD, 4.0 OHV, 5-speed manual.
