So when I got the Explorer 4,000 miles ago it would read 305 miles to empty upon filling the tank with regular? Now when I fill the tank it reads 243 or so til empty. What the Hell?! Where did my fuel economy go? Is it the computer? I tried resetting? What do you guys suggest? I'm taking a road trip tomorrow so if you have info PLEASE SHARE!!!

Thanks

Do you warm the car up in the morning? This will really reduce your mpg. Also winter blend fuel will rob mileage. Other than that start with regular maintenance, ie plugs, wires, air filter, tire psi.

Thanks for the input. No I don't warm it up excessively. I'll give the mmaintenance and stuff a try. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks.

Try taking some readings from the speedometer. Thats a big drop! It could be the comp.

You may want to have the fuel presure regulator checked, if it is running too high a pressure your MPG will drop.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'm going to check all of these things out.
