Could be your float in the tank. Not really sure. I know that when you pull the instrument panel out, you can remove like 4 or 6 brass colored screws with a 5.5 mm socket. Once those screws are removed you can pull the clear plastic lens off. The gauges are 3 different ones. They will just pop off with a flat head.

Okay check out this thread. It's a how to on swapping gauges but, it'll do the trick.

Maybe the junkyard has a broken instrument cluster and you can just get the on that has the fuel and temperature. Hope this helps.

I would look into the gauge swap 1st. You'dhave to drop the fuel tank, then remove the fuel pump to get to the float. Alot eaqsier to try out a gauge.

well how off is the guage.. cuz its normal for them to be off a bit... like mine is off by about an 8th of a tank and really only noticable when below half a tank.. which is normal with age.... but i mean if u fill ur tank and the guage only shows 3/4 then something is wrong

so ur tank never reads full the highest it will go is 3/4? and when u run the tank dry will the needle go below the e mark by a 1/4 or will it only go to e?... to me it sounds like th guage not the float, like th guage needs to be re calibrated... cuz if the float was bad (and i do not have experience with this but just common sence thinking) it wouldnt be a consitant amount off.. it would kinda bounce around i think.... so id try to replace the guage first (if its really a big deal, me personally would leave it if you know its a quarter off then you should know how much gas you have since itsconsistant)
