I replaced my inercia switch, it was bad the old one was bad. if you moved it slightly and it would open, put the new one in, I thought the problem would be fixed, however every now and then the car will not start, (Not getting any fuel) Not happenening all the time, just happened 5 minutes ago, pressed the inercia switch, (was not tripped) let the car sit then it started, it is happening about 2 times a day now, what can it be? Fuel filiter? Fuel pump? fuel relay switch? were do I start?

The inertia switch closes the electrical circuit going to the fuel pump. You will have to use a continuity tester or an Ohm meter to see if the circuit is electrically closed. Check this link: http://www.dapj.net/hobby/?p=250

Yes that part I did, I know the switch is closed, when i turn the key to the on postion I can here with the hood open the fuel pump relay turn on then off, the car starts, I have not tried listened to it when the car does not start to see if the fuel relay is running, Will a bad fuel filter cause this issue, I have 156K on the car, I have never changed the filter, I got the car when it had 55K on it..

I see some filters have 3 tubes comming out of them and some have 2 --one at each end, How do I know what one I have? I looked it up and most sites have both for sale and both say fits 2002 EB without getting under there and takeing the sheilds off, Hoe does any know what one they Have?

Well I think I found the problem, what do you think? I replaced the relay, I replaced the inertia switch, then last night it happened again, this time I checked some things, when I turned the key on to the on postion, the fuel pump did not run, tried it again about 5 mins later, same thing, then about 3 mins after that turned key to the on postioon and herd the fuel pump run for 3 seconds, then car started, turned the car off and on about 5 times no problem,so i quess it is the Fuel pump or sending unit same thing though have to replace it all, what do you think?

almost forgot, after the car started last night went for a drive the 4x4 high light keep comming on and off, only a couple of times but that never happened before, I do not know if this has anything to do with the fuel problem, or is the computer going all together... causeing both issues... tranny runs fine.... PS no codes...

There are two relays. The main one is the fuel pump relay that was replaced, and the PCM relay is for the computer & the fuel pump. Do you see a check engine light when you turn the key? If not, then the PCM is not getting any power.

I will check, but do you mean when the fuel pump is not working check that or like now if I go home and the feul pump will work, I think it comes on, I am pretty sure of that, why do you think it may be the PCM NOT the fuel pump..?

Ok and if the light is lite, it is the feul pump>? if it is not lite it is the PCM?

UPDATE- Conformed today that it is the Fuel pump- Took it to Ford 50 bucks- But here is the problem, Ford says they put two types in that vehical- a 7 pin or 8 pin, I took a chance and got one from Rockauto based on the year build 2/22/01 they say it is the 8 pin, it is funny how Ford there own car does not even know that... Getting delivered for SAT hope it is the right one.. anybody know for sure if it is 8 pin or 7 pin?

UPDATE: Ford said it was the Fuel pump, well quess what is WAS NOT, it was the Filter took it out when I was in process of changeing pump, just for fun I blew in the fuel filter could not get anything through, replaced, and car running like a charm no problems the last 7 days, so much for the experts that wanted 750 for a new fuel pump. Now I have to return the new fuel pump, anyways hope this helps anyone....
