Serg :
I have had the same problem:
Gas gauge registering below zero. Check engine light ON.
If you have a v6 FFV ethanol vehicle there is a very expensive fuel sensor unit associated with the whole ethanol flex fuel computer set up.
I added some Chevron Techtron fuel additive and it fixed the fuel gauge problem.
Then it came back.
I added some more techtron additive and KNOCK ON WOOD, The fuel gauge works consistently once again.
I have read that a sulfur compound builds up on the fuel tank contacts and or the fuel sensor electrical contacts as to throw off the electrical resistance measurements and disabling the fuel gauge. Ie resistance too high or low.
If you have a FFV get a still and brew your own.

Thanks , my explorer is non-ethanol also I already remplaced the fuel level sensor and unit, I don't know why don't want work.

I had the same problem. I just disconnected the negative terminal on the battery and then went in and turned the key to the on position (this ensures all current is drained from the system) and re-hooked the battery up. Its been working since...

I already tried Outlaw but still have same problem, well my gauge will die not working :-) thanks everybody for the advices!
