The thread is right. You have to pull the whole driverside dash out. The only part of that thread you don't need is how to replace the gauge faces. I just scraped off the backing on the gauges themselves which was blue... You then can either use a glass paint and tint it the color you would like or I justed used orange colored bulbs. I'll try to get pictures up soon. For the bulbs they are on the back of the gauges so you do have to take the whole assembly out.
While you have it out change every bulb in the gauge cluster. It's not a hard job. I've had mine out so many times for differnt reasons I can have it out and back in in a 1/2 hour or less.
Probably have this already, but thought I'd throw it in here for a search since I have a cluster next to my desk.
There are 6 illumination bulbs
There are 17 warning/idiot light bulbs
There is 1 flasher bulb (for the theft light)
I wouldn't worry about the warning bulbs, they are only on if an event occurs or on startup, aside from the speed control bulb, the 4x4 or door ajar light.
