Fuel level indicator sender float

Im thinking about using a cork float to replace the copper one in my 1993 Ford Explorer.

Any sujestions or comments will be appreciated.

I researched and found that cork has been used in is used in lots of vehicles.

Should be fine, I used one from an S-10. Junk yard float... now that's thrifty. Seems to me you can buy a replacement float from NAPA etc.

Thanks, Think I will go to Napa to check. I went to AutoZone in Virginia Beach, and they did not seem to want to help me.
