Can anyone help me figure out how to change my FPR? I have a 93 ford Explorer. Is there a video that can help me? Is this something a beginner can change easily

It's not very difficult at all.

Depressurize the rail by removing the cap from the test port and poking the shrader valve pin to release pressure (like a tire valve). Then you can remove the fuel supply line from the regulator with an adjustable or box end wrench. Pull the vacuum reference line off the regulator, then the two bolts (5/16 head) that attach the regulator to the fuel rail. The regulator will then pull out and you can swap the new one in.

Re-assembly is the reverse of removal. I do recommend replacement of any gaskets you come across, if it is in your budget.

EDIT: My error, I was backwards

It's not very difficult at all. You will need a deep socket set of sizes 10mm through 13mm with an extension, and a 5/16 socket, plus probably a couple basic hand tools like screwdrivers and such.

You'll need to remove the upper intake manifold. This is just 6 nuts, though you'll probably need to unhook a few minor things to set the manifold aside. Tag them and take pictures so you know where to put it all back. If you have EGR, that will be hanging onto your manifold but you can either use a large adjustable wrench or unbolt the EGR valve from the manifold. Same for DPFE sensor, if equipped. Basically you need to get the upper intake manifold out of the way so you can get at the fuel rail. Once there, first depressurize the rail by removing the cap from the test port and poking the shrader valve pin to release pressure (like a tire valve). Then you can remove the fuel supply line from the regulator with an adjustable or box end wrench. Pull the vacuum reference line off the regulator, then the two bolts (5/16 head) that attach the regulator to the fuel rail. The regulator will then pull out and you can swap the new one in.

Do you really need to pull the upper off to take it off?? pretty sure i can get mine off with the upper still attached

Why do you need or want to replace yours

You're right, I had it backward in my mind. My motor's been apart for too long.

Well the car doesn't have a check engine but the fuel system definitely has something wrong. Acceleration and starting is infuriating me. Everytime I drive past my old neighbors house who is a 79 yr old Mechanic he screams my fuel pump is bad that he can hear it a mile away... which I figured my car wouldn't start if that was the case?? And my mechanic who is sketchy as **** but the nicest guy I know tells me that my FPR is bad.. he showed me signs of leakage. It's dried and some of it looks wet. So I trust him.. worst case scenario I replace a part that hasn't been changed in 23 years

Just did the two key tests. First one with engine off 111 416
Second test engine off goose test 412 538

But I need to change fuel filter but im intimidated and need a full day to attempt that.

What do you guys think?

Oh so I looked up all the codes and it seems like its the throttle body sticking?... could that really be the problem?? I changed the idle air control 2 weeks ago... brand new. I'm at a lost. I just want my baby up at her full potential:(

Could this be because I didn't have a gasket when I replaced the MAF sensor?

I took mine off without taking off the fuel rail. Tricky! next time I will take off the fuel rail. Quicker and I can check the injectors using an ohmmeter.
