I have been having intermittant problems with my fuel pump. Dropped the tank, removed the circular bolt down plate that the fp is attached to, tested the pump direct to the pump terminals, pump tested ok. On top of circular plate is a black block which the fuel pump power wire goes into and the exits before passing through plate to fuel pump. The power is good up to this block but no power after it exits. Anybody know what this block is (nothing in my Haynes manual) I picked up a reference on a radio website that mentions "from 1996 Ford's fitted a High Frequency Interference Suppressor to Explorer fuel pumps" could this be what I'm looking at? Any help appreciated.
