Just got done putting in a new Thermostat and Heat Gauge sensor. Went to start up and I had to give it throttle to get it to start. Drove around the block and shut it off and then it started right up. If I let it sit for a few seconds I have to give it throttle again to get it going. Then I thought it must be draining back when I shut it off. So I turn the key to ON and wait 5 seconds and then try to start it. Starts right up if I do that. SO if I turn the key to on and try and start it right away it wont start without giving it throttle.

What would cause this? I had a friend listen to the fuel pump and it comes on as soon as I turn the key to on. Just acts like it is taking longer for the fuel to get up front.

Fuel filter clogged?

Well after restarting the thing it starts right up now. Is it possible there is a reset after replacing sensors. I know some things require a restart of so many times to get rid of codes. Well at least on my VW there is. Fuel filter has been replaced a short time ago.

I'm having a similar problem with my 2001 5.0 with 180k. if it's cold, or if it's sat overnight, it starts immediately. if i drive it somewhere and i leave if sitting for say 45 min's and then start it, it will crank for a while (4 secs maybe) before starting. once started it runs perfectly and it has had a recent complete tune up. i figure it's either the fuel pump getting tired or maybe it's the CTS. I'm still experimenting with it, but it seems that if i turn the key to ON and wait for 5 secs it will start right up, even after the 45 min warm sit. more than likely it's the fuel pump.

Just talked to a guy last night that said even his Honda service guy said that you should always turn the key to on and wait a few seconds before trying to turn it over. I have never heard of this except for my VW TDI Diesel which has Glow Plugs. It really isn't much time to take to make sure it fires up right away. They told him it is just much easier on the battery that way. I don't mind waiting a few seconds I have to wait 8 seconds on my Diesel.
