after trying everything else, the cure for my truck: REPACKED FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS.
duh.. i can't believe I could overlook this.
Maybe it was just my going through the hubs that did it, but a bearing replace and repack was the only thing I replaced in there. So I think that the bearings did it. Does that sound right to you more experienced mechanics? I just thought i'd mention it for all of you with 1st gen's with the 61-67 mph vibration, and you've tried the other stuff mentioned here (ra bushings, upper and lower ball joints, alignments, camber adjustments, different tire and shock combos, etc. etc. ad nauseum). It may not be the cure for your truck, but I thought I'd mention it.
