This will help if you are stuck in BF Egypt and this happens; instead of getting towed to the shop or back home.
BTW This IS a Ford - keep a small tool box with you and don't forget the #10 socket and a wrench!

As you people know I had problems with warnings showing up on the dash along with no power steering, it said Charging System - Service Now, Hill Start Assist - Not Available and Service AdvanceTrac
This initial problem all started in Jan when I purchased the PIU.
I completely forgot to put on a trickle charger (AKA: battery tender). So I had figured that it must have been the battery. I brought the battery to Auto Zone and it turned out to be a $60.00 battery that they threw in the vehicle that wasn't even the right cranking amperage for the vehicle so I purchased the best battery they had for this truck.
OK! It cost me $200.00 but I shouldn't have THAT to worry about for a while. [I hope!!!]
I figured the system needed to be rebooted. Kinda like these computers when they start giving us problems. I put the new battery in thinking that should have solved the problem because I took the power out of the system, for quite a while, like a hard boot for the computer you unplug it!
In a way, YES, I was right BUT here is the trick. Turn the key to the ON position and do NOT turn the vehicle on. Open the hood and remove the negative terminal. Go inside the house and relax for at least 10 minutes like I did. Then put the negative terminal back on. You will hear different mods turning things on and off - don't worry just keep working and get the battery terminals snugged down. Go in the car and turn the key OFF, count to 10 and turn the car ON.
BINGO everything works perfectly without the warnings!
Also, open your fuse box cover. Check all your fuses. Those with the window are not meant for old people!
On the left side of the fuse box I have two terminals that are really rusty. Tomorrow, (providing we don't get the snow) I am going to remove the negative terminal again then remove the two terminals on the fuse box and wire brush the rust off of the lugs (they look like bolts) and put on some dielectric grease with new nuts. It wouldn't hurt to put dielectric on the battery terminals and especially around the base of the terminals.
Best of luck & I hope I helped at least one person.
