I followed the directions, but did not work. I programmed my wife's car and my 07 Mountaineer, but my 12 does not work. I hit the learn button and then go to the car and hold down one of the 3 buttons for over 30 seconds but the red light never flashes. Tried with the car off, accessory and on. What am I missing?

If unsuccessful attempts are made, you should always delete any programing you have done before trying again just to make sure that the button's memory is cleared.

Where is this button located? One of my pet peeves with my '13 XLT is not having a garage dooe opener. They give you plenty of stuff that you will never use, but not something that you could use several times a day. Which models does it come on?

Driver's sun visor. Here is the one in MKT and is similar to the Explorer. It is Standard on the Limited and Optional on the Sport models.

First thing to figure out is if you have the Car2u system or Homelink. Homelink has a picture of the house with 1 light like Peters. I don't believe they started using Homelink until 2013.

If it is Car2u you may need a repeater because most garage door openers are not compatible with Car2u.
