I REALLY NEED SOME HELP HERE. MY 2002 EXPLORER LIMITED IS REALLY SCREWED UP AND I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THIS IS SUPPOSE TO LOOK LIKE
I was 125 miles from home heading up the ramp in Ft Myers I FLOORED IT to get up to 70 mph and my gas pedal STUCK and I mean STUCK to the floor..I threw it in neutral and pulled and pulled I got it lose to say the least..I got if off the floor and it was basiclly in my hand the whole damn thing..The plastic grommets fell out where it pivited from and every thing else that keep this part attached was either in my hand or in pieces on the floor..It was Friday past 8:00 so garage was not option I knew there was a Lowes up ahead so I stuck a pen <ONLY THING I HAD>to hold the pedal together to get me a few miles..I stopped at Lowes and used some fender washers and bolt and nut to get me home..I look at it now and it looks like a small fork with two fingers against the upper wall where the top of pedal support comes to rest ,but I kind of bent it when I was trying to pull it off the floor ..I have no idea what the correct set up should be to make this work again. It is looser than a $20 dollar ***** ..I just spent $1700 on other repairs at Elder Ford in Tampa so I would rather try myself or something anything but trying the Ford garage again..Any ideas from any one here tell me what I need to do or some web place I can go to see what this is suppose to look like .This thing is DEADLY..Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions and advise....Rick
