Has anyone done anything with the gas pede?. I seem to have trouble with it because some days my x acts like it got tons of power and others it acts like i neeed to get out and push it. Usualy it helps when I ware shoes with thin soles but I dont want to have to ware sandals every time I drive the thing. Or could this problem be more related to the 213,000+ miles it has on it?

Look carefully at the gas pedal, check it manually by hand. There have been many of the pedal brackets to have broken. The fix is to replace the rivets with bolts. Good luck,

the pedal is hooked up to a thin cable (very much like the cable thats used on bicycle brakes) that runs to the throttle body.. check to see how much slack there is on this cable... if theres quite a bit, do a search on this forum about this topic cauz i know ive read about this a while back..

gluck.

mine broke when i was at work on my way to a job site and took one bolt which was actually easy to fix and used one bolt and double nutted it.

not sure how that sounds lol
