For those of you who do not get the Rocky Mountain News and those that missed this I had to post it!!
Taken from RMN on Thursday May 17:

AN IDEA FOR GAS PRICING
To make all gas prices fair to consumers, I propose the following to the oil industry:
How about charging a specific amount per galoon of gas depending on the type and size of vehicle one drives. SUV owners, at the top of the guzzler list, should pay $3 or $4 per gallon. Then lower the price accordingly depending on the size of the vehicle and the mileage it gets per gallon. (Of course, to keep the econmoy vital, commercial vehicles would not be penalized.)
This way the rest of us who don't try to drain the nation's oil reserves with each tank of gas will not have to pay for the thoughtlessness and greediness of those who do.

Now I wanna see that happen, talk about an impossible solution, can you imagine hw long it would take at the pump???

Lets see here you have a 91 Ford explorer with 33's correct? It also has 3.73 gears correct? Your driving style is??? (because of course it changes MPG's) and according to regulations your current cost is?????

I mean I am all for trying to keep from running the nations oil out but come on realistic solutions might help!

ok

Yes and I would gladly pay the $3-$4 a gallon if only he would go further with that....let's say the tax system in our country.... It shouldn't actually go by how much money one makes... but the amount of totally wasted gray matter that one has.... that way it would even out...this guy would be paying off his first year by the time he dies.
