Hi, every member of the team.
I own and like very much my explorar xlt year 2002.

I have had a problem with my car since almost a month ago.
Thing is no filling station operator wants to fill up the gas tank for the explorer since the automatic filling gun clicks shot almost as soon as fuel begins pouring to the tank, si filling the gas tan last a lot longer than it used to be.
Any body with a similar problem? what would be the solution?

Regards

Don't know if your gas nozzles have a boot that presses against the fill pipe on vehicle and the pump nozzle. If it does make sure the nozzle is all the way onto the fill pipe. Also don't hold the pump handle upside down. Alot of people hold it upside down if their vehicle is on the right side of the pump and the hose is short since the fill pipe is on the right side of vehicle. At least this is what I've seen in California. If this is still a problem as BrooklynBay mentioned check the vent system, especially the evaporator canister.

Here in NJ the attendants hold the nozzle upside down when this happens(It's technically illegal for a motorist to pump their own gas here).

Seems some nozzle cutoff thresholds are more sensitive than others.

Wow, never knew it was illegal anywhere to pump your own gas. Seems NJ and OR are the only two states like that.

You have a vent or vent line stopped up. That happened on my E250 and when you're having to pump 35 gallons in it every morning and it clicks off like your it becomes annoying REAL fast. Was taking me 30 minutes to fill up. One of the vapor lines to the front was stopped up with a crusty white substance. It took dropping the tank to find it.

There is also a small screen down in the filler tube to prevent siphoning
It keeps your hose from getting down into the tank

Ive seen sometimes when adding injector cleaner out of a bottle etc, that foil top you have to break open can come off and gets hung up on that screen.

This causes the flow of gas to back up the filler tube when pumping fuel and shuts off the pump as the sensor thinks the tank is full.

Yup, and ironically, we have some of the lowest fuel prices in the country.
