Im getting a 3" BL and plan to do a TT/ and add shackles. And I was wondering if I put 33" tires on my rig if I HAD to change the gearing?? I have 3.73 on it right now. :(

No, you dont have to. I would recommend atleast 4.10's though. But you DONT have to regear :D

They'll work, but the truck will definately feel slow off the line and may lug a bit at low highway speeds. Not worth just to go to 4.10 though, also depends if bigger tires are in your future.

4.10 is good for 33s on the high end
4.30s are almost perfect (4x2 only)
4.56 is good for 33s on the low end.

hey, welcome to the site, im sure a lot of people are going to tell you to use the search. and you can do that to get more info on your question. i have a 97 with the same setup as you. it all depends on what you want to get out of it. i am happy with 3.73 and 33s, but it is only my daily driver and i hit the trails sometimes and play in the mud. she acts fine maybe 12mpg highway and 10 streets, i drive to CA all the time from CO. so all in all you don't HAVE to change the gears. good luck

Im running 33"s with 3:73's also. Theres no real need to change the gears if its a daily driver but you will have power loss and it will be real nice to have lower gears.
