Just had a Jasper re-man transmission installed in my 2006 XLT.
I thought the gearshift release button previously had to be depressed when manually shifting from '3' to '2' or from '2' to 1'', same as shifting from 'D' to '3'.
Now my transmission will manually shift from '3' to '2' or to '1' without pressing the gearshift release button. The indicator also will show both '3' and '2', with no virtually no physical detent between them. Same going from '2' to '1'.
I suspect the installer mis-rigged the gearshift controls. Suggestions / comments greatly appreciated!
