so my truck has been running like total !@#$ lately. and so i finally got a day off to scrounge around under the hood. didnt see anything wrong by eyesight. also was wondering why it wasnt throwing the cel or anything codes? well come to find out the cel bulb was out. and when i hooked on the obd II code reader heres what it has showed. ready for this....

p0153
p0401
p1151
p0303
p0304
p0306

i belive that the first is a o2 sensor
2nd is the egr valve
not sure about the 3rd
but 4th 5th and 6th is cylinders 3, 4, and 6

i was just wondering if anyone has had one throw all of these codes, and found a fix.

i tried to fix it but money is tight and i cant just buy parts to try, but heres what i have put on so far.
6 new plugs and wires, might pull the plugs back out and take another look since its been a month or so, and yes before you say it, yes i did check the gap of the plugs. lol

also put on a new distribtor cap or whatever its called on here.

tried a new heat sensor thing, its right under the intake manifold, little brass piece with a 2 wire connector.

may try the camshaft position sensor tomorrow, heard it could be a source of misfire.

but as of right now im kinda at a loss, im really looking for people to point me in the right direction. and what parts i should look at.

oh also i was going to check the fuel pressure today, but when i put the gauge on it started leak gas where the crimp was on the hose. so dont but the harbor freight fuel pressure gauge cause its JUNK!

HELP!!! ANY, AND ALL thanks

What engine do you have? Is it making any strange noises? How's the idle? Try to describe the problems it's having.

oh yeah i guess i should tell what engine i have lol. its the 6 cyl 4.0 and its 4wd. but its got a really bad miss in idle, the whole truck shakes. when i put the truck in gear its even worse, im guessing because theres a load on the motor. but when i go to pull out theres like no need for the gas pedal because it has no power at all. i can flore it but its takes for ever to build up the speed. also the exhaust smells like gas.

bump, to get back on the first page.

how about the fuel filter, could this be another source?

If you're getting raw gas out of the exhaust, you might want to check your spark. It's possible that your coil pack is weak, or something else may be wrong with the ignition system.

Well, I can tell you what the codes are.

P0153 - 02 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

Symptoms

You will likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms.
Causes

A code P0153 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

* The oxygen sensor is faulty
* The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed
* There is an exhaust leak

Possible Solutions

Things that may fix the problem include:

* Check and fix any exhaust leaks
* Check for wiring problems (shorted, frayed wires)
* Check the frequency and amplitude of the oxygen sensor (advanced)
* Check for a deteriorating / contaminated oxygen sensor, replace if necessary
* Check for inlet air leaks
* Check the MAF sensor for proper operation
* Replace the Bank 2 oxygen sensor upstream of the catalytic converter

P1151 - Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 2

What does that mean?

A Heated Exhaust Oxygen (HO2S) sensor indicating lean at the end of a test is trying to correct for an over-rich condition. The test fails when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.
Symptoms

You will likely not notice any drivability problems.
Causes

A code P1151 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Electrical:

* Short to VPWR in the harness or HO2S
* Water in the harness connector
* Open/shorted HO2S circuit
* Corrosion or poor mating terminals and wiring
* Damaged HO2S
* Damaged PCM

Fuel System:

* Excessive fuel pressure
Leaking/contaminated fuel injectors
Leaking fuel pressure regulator
Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel
Vapor recovery system

Induction System:

* Air leaks after the MAF
* Vacuum Leaks

PCV system:

* Improperly seated engine oil dipstick

EGR System:

* Leaking gasket
* Stuck EGR valve
* Leaking diaphragm or EVR

Base Engine:

* Oil overfill
* Cam Timing
* Cylinder compression
* Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S(s)

Possible Solutions

* See the above list of causes and go from there.

P0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected

What does that mean?

EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It is part of the vehicle emmissions system, and is used to reduce combustion temperature and pressure to control Oxides of Nitrogen. There are generally three parts to the EGR system: the EGR valve, an actuator solenoid, and a differential pressure sensor EGR (DPFE). These things work together to deliver the correct amount of recirculation based on engine temperature, load, etc. The P0401 code means that OBD detected an insufficient amount of EGR.

Symptoms

You may notice drivability problems such as pinging (a.k.a. pre-ignition knock) when the engine is under load or the vehicle is at higher speeds. There may also be other symptoms.
Causes

A code P0401 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:

* The DPFE (differential pressure feedback EGR) sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
* There is a blockage in the EGR (tube), most likely carbon buildup
* The EGR valve is faulty
* The EGR valve may not be opening due to a lack of vaccuum

Possible Solutions

In fixing this code, it is quite common for people to just replace the EGR valve only to have the OBD code return. The EGR valve is not always the culprit.

* Use a vacuum pump and pull the EGR valve open while monitoring engine RPM's & DPFE voltage. There should be a noticable difference in RPM's with the EGR open
* Clean out the EGR valve and/or tubing to remove deposits
* Check the voltage at the DPFE, compare to specified values (refer to a repair manual for your specific model)
* Replace the DPFE sensor (with a good quality / OEM one)
* Replace the EGR valve

These three are misfires.

P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected

Bank 2 is drivers side cylinders 4,5 & 6, so I dont understand why you are getting a misfire on cylinder 3 when the other errors are confined to bank 2. Are you sure you got that code right?

If it is cylinder 5, I would start by replacing that O2 sensor. Thats only about $50 so its a cheap place to start. It could be more serious, but I would start there.

The EGR is also on the drivers side. Everything seams to be related to the drivers side of the engine.
