I am new to this board and am questioning on my fathers behalf. He has a 94 explorer 2WD A4 with around 84K on it.
Every vehicle has their defects and i am just wondering what i should look for on his. He has owned it since new and never had any problems except for last month the thermostat got stuck and made it start to overheat.

So if you could give me the low down of what to look for on this truck. Tell me what you know.

Thanks Larry

That's a very open-ended question but I will point out a few things that you might want to look at with that many miles on it.
1) Radius Arm bushings--they tend to wear out and crack, causing noise up front in the suspension, and bad ride, pulling to one side, etc.
2) door handles--they tend to get loose, etc.

But really I don't think there is too much wrong with the Explorer. It's a great truck.

Your best bet is to do a search here; especially look at the thread "High Mileage Explorers" which is in the "General Explorations" forum here. It might give you an idea of what to expect.
