yeah i knew that man. and Dads getting the bigger tires. IDK the size just kjnow the bigger size. something w/ my dad and big tires.lol i'll satify my dad w/ getting 31's for my X so he'll like that

Get the moonroof, Side curtain airbags, AdvanceTrac, and power pedals. Enjoy the new X. They are so awsome.

Side curtain airbags.... don't know about them... im just a cheap guy if I get hit from the side it'll just cost more to get the air bags replaced

This X is for Dad so if he gets in a crash he'l be more enguried that i would so side air bags area good thing to have.

I second the moonroof if he's looking to drop a little. And match the interior with the exterior color - get the darkest gray (close to black) leather or cloth Ford offers.

alright, didn't think of the matching interior colors. it's gold inside and out on mine. there going w/ cloth seats b/c Mom wantes them and she doesn't like having her butt cold in the winter and burned in the summer.

does it get cold in the winter in NC?

if it does, there is a heated seats option.

ok told him that. he'll consider all of the things above.

What? No 2002 X for you Birthday?

Happy Birthday Digger!

Robb

no i got got the 95 X that is mine for a b-day present. and i had a crappy birthday. read here at bottom b/c i'm to druged to retype:

Dead Link Removed

thank you for wishing me a happy b-day.

Happy Birthday but sorry about the wisdom teeth and bustin your head. I had my teeth pulled a year ago and felt like hell. Hang in there. You'll be drivin the X before you know it.

thanks. i fell a little better today and it'll be even better when i get the roof rack on top of my car! my Dad is reading this forum to get sujections so keep them coming.

3.73 rearend with limited slip is good.

The 4.0Liter V6 is also fine compared to the 4.6Liter v8 IMHO. Also like i learned in this forum, the leather seats seem firmer and more stuffed or something to me also.

Maybe also the upgraded tow package.

But the alarm they always tack on and don't tell you about $895.00 is kind of a rip off. Also the better stereo such as at least the 6 disc changer is $247 when you buy but $655 plus core single cd player as soon as you walk out the door. The aux ac is also worthwhile for your passengers and greater cooling capacity.
3rd row seat if you like the option of a fun group. We do.

And of course 4x4!

Other than that it is how much you want to spend.

heated leather seats, auto dual climate control, reverse object sensing, memory seats and pedals, etc...

reverse object sensing

I'm voting against this one. I hate driving cars with the reverse sensing crap on them. Such a pain in the ass.

Sorry, just my mini-vent for the day

I recommend you get a 2WD model.

I don't think there's enough snow here to justify having one. Plus you get better gas mileage, performance, and it cuts down on wear and tear. My 2 cents.

2002 XLS

I prefer the lower base models such as my 2002 XLS. Gives me more options to personalize it. I do not like those rear/backing sensors either! I hate all stock vehicle audio systems, so the XLS was good for me (ripping out stock stereo now...LOL) Have already changed the tires as well. Do not need heated seats in Hawaii, (Leather gets really hot), and do not need the third row seat....I only have two small kids! Besides the third row seat does not fold flat when closed. As for the V/6...love it! Has 210HP, the V/8 only about 240 or something like that which means lower insurance premiums and less gas. V/6 has good power. Just my thought:D

Well the 4x4 gets 1mpg less. Not much diff.
As for the 3rd seat, it has a cover that flattens it out. And there is a slope but that just keeps stuff from rolling around as much it seems. Still enough room.
Another thumbs up for the V6. Enough power, especially with the 3.73's and 5 speed automatic, and better mpg.

You can turn the reverse sensing system off, at least you can on other vehicles. I drove a Lexus LS430 with it and found it pretty useful when paralell parking in a tight space (lexus has it front and back and in the wheels) but for all other times I agree, its annoying.
