The guy I talked to on the phone said they didn't charge for different shades of tint and since there is no law in VA saying how dark my tint has to be, I was going to leave it open and see what you guys said. So, how dark should I go? I was thinking 20% but 5% limo hasn't been ruled out yet. One more thing, how dark is stock tint on an Explorer or any car for that matter?

Tint

Dark Limo tint is nice, but can be a pain-in-the-ass at night. Very difficult to see out....scary when changing lanes or backing.

If you are just tinting the front sides and have the privacy (mirrored glass) from the factory everywhere else, 35% mirror tint matches it perfect. If not, I would go 20% smoke (black instead of mirror).

I have 5% on the 3 back ones then 20% on the 2 small sides and the passenger windows. It looks tight but I now wish that I did Limo all around. Its true that it is difficult to see out of the back at night but if you are going purley for looks I'd get Limo all the way around especially since you have not laws relating to that there. Whatever you do I'm sure it will be Bad Ass!

you might not have found a law listed about the tint in VA, but a lot of my friends have been busted for having to dark of tint...one friend even got a ticket for FACTORY tint in his celica.

if you have the factory mirror tint, you should be fine beccaused adding tint to the mirror, doesnt change the look of the outside very much...but if you do the front windows, dont go too dark.

I have 5% on the rear side windows, 15% on the rear window, and 75% on the front windows. The 15% helps to see at night but honestly, I wish I would have gotten a 5% on it. Then bought brighter reverse lights. Also, if the law allows to to go as dark as you want on the front windows, I would say don't go any darker than 35%. I have 75% because that is as dark as you can legally have it in California, but I really wish that it was more like a 50%. Good luck and hope it turns out good.

Go with 5% limo all around. Ya it is kinda tough to see outside ur car in dark areas with no streetlights or whatever, but its definetly worth it for the looks and privacy in ur car. If u really need to see out at night perfect u can roll down ur windows. I havent had any problems with mine as far as seeing.

Got the tint done today, 20% on the 7 rear windows. I left the fronts un-tinted. Don't know why I did that exactly, but it looks good regardless. Check out this link to see a before and after of the window tint.

Anyone here tinted their front windshield? I've been thinkin about it but not sure how much visibility will be knocked down. I've got my front windows matched to factory (35%) and they are plenty dark enough. From certain angles it looks kinda funny without any tint on the front.

I believe tinting your front windshield, is illegal in every state. I also believe those can earn you pretty big fines.... Just darker the eyebrow and lower it alittle (the most you can do)
