Happens to me in my Explorer and Excursion both which have cloth seats. Leather seats don't seem to bother me.
A anti static trick is to mix a solution of 20 pts water to 1 part liquid fabric softner in a spray bottle. Lightly spray the seats and the carpet.
I have done this and it will knock down that majority of the shock if not all. I also use it on this one chair we have in the house. Every winter it begins to shock the fool out of us. I give it a light spray and it is good for about six weeks.
