Dunno if you would even call this a "mod", but here it goes. I hacked the end off my stock tailpipe with a sawzall so it is horizontally flush with the bumper. I did this so it would be out of sight.

Heh. :D

heh... nice... good idea!

When I waws puttin my exhaust on:
I had the muffler shop cut off the RICE Borla tip:
Dead Link Removed

And I installed a slash-cut piece of 2-1/2" stainless instead. Looks factory, only larger.
You can't see it....but you can hear it.

I don't like the Borla tip either, good call.

and when wheeling, the exhuast wont get smashed closed if you hit the bumper...

What is this "wheeling" you refer to?
We are not familliar with this in my country. We only know how go fast on pavement, yes? Is this not all there is to life?

LOL. :D

Good call on the Borla Tip, question is.....did you keep it? Borla as far as i know is expensive and it would have been worth your while to sell it on ebay or something.:D

Excellent question, Grasshopper.

The guy at the muffler shop installed my entire cat back system, and tack welded the joints for free, cuz I gave him the tip.

You have much potential in your thrifty ways....

OMG:eek: ........ can it be?!?!......... the Grand Master has...has... DOUBLE POSTED!!!!!!!

i shall now crawl into my basement, for i have seen the Apacolypse.

HAHAHA. i did that last year hartman, but the heat from my exhaust started to melt the plastic on the botton of my bumper. So when i got my newer Mac exhaust installed i just dumped it

Yomie, have you run into any problems with exhaust leaking into the cab with an exhaust dump?

No not yet. i have a 3" (i know i'm gonna get bashed for having a 3" by someone here  ) but its a 3" dump at 45 degrees downward a lil offset to the passenger side. the only thing is that with the Flow Path muffler it makes it a lil louder inside the cab, but that what i have 3 subs for :D . So far i have not smelt it or anything inside. I love the look of not having the exhaust pipe visible.

<edit>

The reason i did this is because i am about to get a 3" C-Notch for a ranger and fit it to my Explorer. with the 2" blocks like i said before i am sitting on my bump stops and the rear is still higher than the front due to my recent Tortion Key flip. Once i go any lower i think i will have clearance problems with the exhaust pipe over the rear axle. You may have seen me post a lil more often on the ranger board, that cause i'm doind a lil more reaserch. i am about to talk to the guy at suicidedoors.com about maybe even 2-linking or reverse triangulated 4-link for the rear and bagging the rear of the truck. a regular 4-link won't work without relocating the gas tank and i don't wanna do that, but i am afraid i won't have enough room behind the axle to do a reverse triangulated 4-link so i'm looking at a 2-link a trac bar and Panhard bar. As my truck sits right now my front differential crossmember is about 2" off the ground with my 16" GT rims and 255/50's i will try to take pics this weekend if the snow clears a lil bit!

i want the borla tip...

PSSSST i added to my above post

Yomie, sound interesting. Are you doing a full blown c-notch, meaning you're cutting the floor? I think you could pull off a 2-link without moving the gas tank.

BTW, we need to meet again some time. :D

No i'm doing the lil C-Notch(3") not the monster notch or Step notch. after i do the 3" notch if it is not enough for my liking (which it should) then i will have to consider the monster notch, and having to cut the floor. My front crossmember is already 2" off the ground, and i have no plans to bag the front yet (too much stuff in the way right now) Even with the front that low my 4WD is still fully functional. Oh yeah we will have to meet again before april! i will be moving at the end of april. January - March time sounds good to me, maybe we can have a Hooters meet in Indy! And then we could chill or something that night. Hey do you have a Heated garage? I have been wanting you to help me paint my bumper trim!

this is the notch
