I finally took a gamble and bought the Gibson Sweptside exhaust system Mfr. #319692. Their website states it only fits 2wd, plus I chatted with a Gibson rep and they couldn't confirm it fit a 4wd Ex.

Well, it does fit with no modifications. I got mine from Carparts.com for $302.00 shipped. I decided to get the aluminized version. Both my prior rigs had Gibson's and never had any problems with corrosion up here in AK. Anyway, it comes with a 3" tailpipe and 3.5" stainless tip. Installation was pretty easy except for sliding the pipe onto the muffer at both ends while underneath the rig. It was a VERY tight fit and was a pita to adjust/rotate while you put the rear pipes on.

There's no noticable drone at highway speeds. It does have a somewhat semi loud rumble at takeoff. I like it. Sounds more like a truck exhaust than a midsize suv exhaust.

I'll have pics up later tonight.

jupiter u going to post sound clip of the exhaust

does it sound a lot meaner since u got the gibson exhaust. I got dual 40 series flows on my 01 sport and it sounds real loud and deep.

It does sound meaner and definitely louder. My brother has a 02 Silverado with a Flowmaster 40 and sounds identical to his. In town driving is too loud for my tastes, plus my g/f hates the noise. Now I'm looking for an aftermarket resonator. Flowmaster makes one about the size of a small muffler. So I might look into that if I can get it to fit.

r u going to do sound clip first

my girl doesn't want me to get the flow 40 series on my mounty, but she won't tell me no.

Who's Mounty is it? Who's money is it? My wife figured out that the Magnaflow was going onto my Explorer when she opened the garage door and noticed the stock exhaust getting pushed out from under the truck.

My ex and my current girlfriend both like my straight pipes. Guess I know how to pick 'em haha.

If your pipe is straight you do know how to pick them.;)

Nice setup, I'm in the market for a new muffler for my Adrenaline, so I'll check this one out.
