- '97 Mountaineer 5.0L AWD
Hello to all....
I joined this site way back in mid-2006 and got several quick solutions for my problems just by searching and reading the threads. I guess that up until now, I could be referred to as a "lurker". Well, those days are gone and I hope I can contribute as much as I have received.
I have a 97 5.0L Mountianeer (bought used in April 2006) which is entirely stock except for a Sony head unit, Sony 10 disc CD changer, 2x10 Infinity subwoofer coupled to a 1600w Infinity mono amplifier. What can I say? I like my music loud, crisp and clean. As an aside, I do NOT use it as a device to annoy neighbors, stray dogs or the police!
What got me started visiting this site and why I bought the Mountaineer is that my son bought a 97 4.0L Explorer XLT way back in 2003. The couple of times I drove his ride led to me retiring my 90 E.B. (7 miles to the gallon) Bronco (365,000 miles!) and going with something that has a little less room but gets three times the mileage!
Anyway, enough rambling. I'm glad to have become a contributing member and I look forward to chatting with all of you!
