hey im going to the track for the first time ever tomorrow with a couple of my friends (first timers as well). i just wanna see what numbers i run stock and see some other cooler cars and what not. Its a 10 dollar test and tune night, so it sounds like a bunch of fun to me. Anyway ive never raced before, any pointers? I have an auto, so there really isnt a way to rev it up then drop the clutch, but could i rev the engine and hold down the brake at the same time? I know the christmas tree goes in .5 second intervals usually and what an ET and Reaction time are...but any advice would be much appriciated.

For the launch, hold your brake and rev to about 1800. Then just mash the gas when you let off the brake. Don't have your A/C on at all. You may try to experiment with different RPMs at launch, but 1800 should be about ideal with the stock torque converter. And make sure to get all the water off of your tires with a bit of a burnout, but don't go nuts. And if you have a limited slip in the rear differential your truck may slide sideways during the burnout so be careful not to run over a track worker ;)

As for the lights, I usually go right at the end of the second yellow.

Good luck! I'm guessing mid 17s.
