where is a good place to get wheels and tires?

i got quoted about 900 bucks at discount tire for 31x10.50-15 bfg a/t's and 15x8 steel wheels. (but i think i like the mt's better, but theyre like 25-30 more a tire, and he said they dont last as long?)

thanks a bunch.

that link you had yesterday was a killer deal...4 tires 350.00 for either 31's or 33's...if it's a budget thing and you are leaving in a few months, i would definately go with them...4wheelparts is also having a sale on tires...i believe it is all the bfg's and procomps...but again, you will be spending a small fortune...i even loked at big-o the other day when they patched one of my tires and they were shocked that they sell bfg's cheaper than they sell their own tires, and yet, 4wheelparts was way cheaper...;)

i went to the manufacturer website and checked them out, and theyre only actually 29" tall. its some cheap-o asian brand that misadvertises 235/75's as 31x10.50's. the tires i have are fine, i only want to replace them to get a little more height. theres no point on spending 350+ bucks for no extra ground clearance.

ill check out 4wheelparts. thanks.

and my birthday is coming up in a week or two, so im gonna try to get my mom to go halves on tires with me.

in that case, check out the manuf... size on the 33's which are the same price, lol...;)

if i were you i would call that guy...he is the one who told me they had the 31' and 33's m/t's...maybe they are another brand...you are going to pay about 800 plus on good tires then unless you find used...:D

Best I ever had!

You may laugh, but I have had two pair of Walmart (Uniroyal) lLiberator AT's and one pair of BFG AT's and the Uniroyal Smoked the AT's for off road and ride great. They are a 50, 000 mile tire and twice I got around 64,000 out of them safely. They are a subsiderary of Michelin and the best part is that the 31's are around 90.00 apiece from any Walmart in the country and there is no easier place to get them warrantied than Walmart. No matter where you breakdown there will be a Walmart close by. Only problem is they don't make them larger than that for Walmart. You have to go too an actual Uniroyal dealer to get them larger. May sound like an advertisement for Walmart, but if it's cheap, good and works great run it..

Wal-Mart will no longer sell anything but the mfg recomended tire on the door sticker. He could buy them loose but they will not if you bring your Explorer in to have them mounted.

Treadepot.com is a good site to keep an eye on. I have seen them offer $9 shipping per tire, on select tires. I have even seen them offer $5 for a holiday promo.

take anything you can find on tire prices and talk to 4wheelparts they will beat it. order a set of BFG 33X10.5r15 A/T's with 15x8 AR Chamber rims for a little over 1000 mounted/balanced/shipped

Quess you should come to texas then, cause I'm three for three at upsizing...

crtaigslist.org make sure you pick YOUR city and state first.

I got my Kumho M/Ts from tire rack for under 500. Just don't tell them what you are putting them on. They don't need to know.

Tim

Try Discount Tire Direct...just picked up 4 Perelli Scorpions (32/11.50/15) mounted on 4 Unique 15x8 steel wheels for 735 shipped to my door...they have free shipping/no sales tax/plus $50 online discount
