Good start 2 a stock system??

thx for the info steve, i'm looking into an deh 9500 pioneer.....i like the new organic display they have, i just hope it doesn't skip like my old pioneer did, cause it will end up at the same place the old on is...on the landfill....

presoanlly i never liked sony...not for car or at home....sony is bound to break to fast and it takes too long to get the stuff fixed....

Jl Audio and Eclipse all the way

I have an Ecplise 5443 head unit and i love it. It has never skipped. Well except when i was in my crash but thats a whole other story. SO anyways i got the ecplise 5 x 7 's in the doors and a JL Audio 10" sub in a stealth box to fit the factory sub cut - out in the rear right corner. SOunds great.

My brother bought a sony xplod deck and sucks so bad. There are discs that it wont play on his stereo that my ecplise plays no problem. IF you are looking for a bunch of lights and cool looking logos, sony is for you, but if you want qualytyin a head unit i recomend Ecplise. Expensive but well worth it.

I have installed stereo's before in many cars. For the X though I have a budget. So I'm starting with a Denon CD Head I got off of ebay brand new(older model that's not made anymore, it has a real volume knob:) Cost $179 Then I'm upgrading all 4 of my speakers with Blaupunkt Overdrive 3 ways 5X7's. Also off of ebay for $160. That should be good for a while, then I'm going to buy an amp, & the JL audio Stealthbox. Total cost of system right now around $345.
