Good Sub/Amp?

i know nothing about the quality of subs/amps/car sound systems, i am looking for a good but cheep sub with amp. i would need a good sub and box and amp. does any one know of a good package with all these things?

i got a budget of about $300, give or take a few

if you could stretch to about $400 you could get a nice kenwood amp with 2 10" JL's

a friend of a friend is selling 2 MTX 500's in a custom box with a 1200watt amp for 300
all i need to do is get them installed and wired, and ill be set!
