I did a search on here and could not come up with anything that will help me decide, so I'm gonna give this post a shot. I'm trying to decide which tires to purchase for my 17inch Cobra r's. It's a toss up between the Pirelli Scorpion Zero's(which I know alot of you guys run) and Goodyear Wrangler F1's. I'm looking for a 275/55-17. My problem is I can't figure out which tire is better? I drive 85% highway, 13% around town, and 2% off road, but nothing major at all. Actually, I don't care at all how the tires perform off road. I"m guessing alot of you guys run the Pirelli's because of the quality for the price. I know tirerack.com has them now for like $142 a piece. But, I found that if I buy the Goodyear's the end of this month(5/29-5/30) I can get them for $150 a piece. With that said, price is not really an issue. So, which tire will look the best, last longer, and perform the best? if you're running the goodyears pics would help alot. thanks for the input.

Hmmmmm, Both companies make good tires. From what I can tell, they have very similar specs, but the Pirellis have a better wear rating. Since the Pirellis have been around, get good survey ratings, and are cheaper, I'd go with them.

Thank you very much for replying. It's just the usally the Goodyears are alot more money which dosn't always mean better, but .....?

I like the tread look of the goodyears much better, but have no experience with either tire as far as wear or performance goes.

I finally found a goodyear shop near my work to get me the wrangler f1's. they had to get them from a warehouse in florida. they will be here next week, but i can't get them installed until the end of the month. i'll keep everyone posted,....if anyone cares?

I care, Holty-Let me know how they handle! Too bad there's no snow on the ground so you could give us a review, lol :p I'd rather stick with my Goodyear dealer if I can help it....I graduated with half the guys there so they don't dare lie to me, lol

PS-Am I gonna have to come up there and drag you down to Carlisle next weekend??

the goodyears cant be cross rotated or flipped on the rim like the pirellis can....... and flipped on the rim is good if you are lowered and tend to wear out only one side due to camber problems

Spas,

i will have the tires put on next thursday. goodyear is having a 50% off sale the last two days of this month...i'll post here with my results, with pics...

and sorry, but i decided to go to Canfield Ohio car show this year instead of Carlisle. i plan on making a trip next year to Carlisle though. I was there 3 years in a row so I decided to go some place different this year. Canfield is not as big, but it's pretty cool. They have a mobile dyno machince and a car cruise down the strip after the show. i'll get picks too if anyone is interested....

FINALLY!!!!

I finally saw the Wrangler F1's in person and man they look real sweet!! I'm definitely getting these tires!! They look much better than the Pirelli's and are only $7 more per tire. I'm getting them put on Thursday. I'll have pics and a full report.
